A great day for being indoors here in Louisiana. The rain has been been coming down in sheets. I suppose I’ll go back to the shop to remove, clean, and catalog parts from the TR6R...

Installed an MRA Touring Vario screen. Been looking for one but MRA do not ship to Israel (crappy postal service) and whenever I was in Europe for work (or South Africa) could not find a dealer that has those on stock for the RS.
Finally, I had a planned visit to Malta... there is a dealer... he is willing to order me the screen...screen will be there on time...
And indeed when I arrived first order of business was to go to the dealer (customers can wait). Picked it up and hand carried it on the flight back. 5min to install and done.

Sound wise it is similar to the original (upper holes, low position) but the buffeling almost gone so I can ride much smoother now (and faster ).

    Good buy.

I killed a pheasant with my RS today. The twin Brembo discs make a great circular saw.

Took the RS to the dealer to have a pair of Roadsmart IIIs mounted and balanced, then came home and changed out the rear pad set on the brake. May break out the cleaning supplies to remove the slight amount of winter road film and dust. Last weekend, spent most of my tax refund on a new Nav VI.

Added some more sawdust to the Dowco cover on the bike. The Accumate charger says the battery is happy.
We're at the mid-point of the winter season.

    Yesterday I:
    • Started the 24k mile service (video to come, although not much to it)
    • Changed engine oil, filter, drain plug gasket (video to come)
    • Changed air filter (upgrade to K&N) (video to come)
    • Used GS-911 USB for the first time (autoscan; reset service reminder) (video to come)
    Bike still runs. :D

Are you going to do a video on the valve check?

I intend to do one, yes. :) But I have to get the feeler gauges first so it will likely be towards the end of the month as I have a business trip starting this weekend.

Seems like the previous generation of the boxer had special feeler gauges.
There's nothing special about the feeler gauges for the Wethead bikes. Any parts store will have them.

Yeah. I put a nice set in my shopping cart at JPCycles but need some more stuff to buy there to make the order worthwhile. Is it just me or is that store pretty woeful when it comes to BMW motorcycle owners? I can't seem to find anything I need to buy and I have a couple JPCycle gift certificates I need to use. :(

It used to be a Harley only store. Is it still located in Iowa?

That only has two sizes and it probably won't fit under the cam lobe.

They are indeed cruiser-centric. They bought out Motorcycle Superstore which is a big loss for us non-cruiser rider.

They have showrooms in Iowa, Florida and South Dakota but it seems that their corporate location is Coppell Texas.
