WP_20171118_11_01_27_Pro.jpg I had a couple of hours free this morning and a nice blue sky.
So I went for a quick tour. For those who know the French Riviera, I went from Cannes to St Raphaël following the coastal road (N98), and then back through the hills WP_20171118_11_08_21_Pro.jpg (N7).
Just stopped at Le Trayas to take some picks : was a very nice clear day, of a smooth fall. Winter seems quite far away (although we have snow on the mountain close by and ski resorts are about to open).

The lovely blue sea and the Lapin R1200RS, very pretty.

However, the Granite Grey model would have been a better match for the pavement at the viewpoint.

As we say in the states, "Ooh la la.... Je suis très jaloux."
I see from your info, you're based in the Côte d'Azur.
Always nice to be in Nice.

It certainly is a nice place to be!
I've been traveling for business to and in the US many times (not to St Louis, though) and there are plenty of places I'd like to explore on a bike.
The San Francisco area is btw very similar to the Côte d'Azur, from a weather perspective and also the coastal road down to LA (I drove from LA to SF on that road, but that was a car, not a bike, many years ago on my first vacation trip to the US, with the girl who's become my wife - lots of memories!)

And I did the same in your current neck of the woods many years ago with the woman who became my wife.

Good roads, good weather, good scenery, good machinery..., and good company can make the world go 'round (and 'round).

(Like Lee, I have a picture of the occasion. The bottles give away the era - somewhere on the road near Grasse.)

I took a day trip up through the Gorges du Verdon on the RS when I was staying in the Cote d'Azur in 2016. Spectacular scenery, that's my classic Grey in the background... (I'm shite at taking pictures!)
Not the sort of place you want to over-shoot a bend!
I'd love to be on the coast there now :)

Les gorges du Verdon are one of my favorites.
3 or 4 times a year my wife and I go there for a Sunday trip when we don't have time for more. Last month we were lucky enough they closed the road for work. As fences weren't large enough to stop bikes (just cars), we tried it with caution (didn't want to fall into the precipice!) and it was awesome : the road was almost ours, and we were pleased to share it with just few other bikers.
We took time to stop and meet with other bikers, sharing hints on trips you can do in the area. A beautiful day!
    Was October the 22nd...

    I'm not jealous at all.........much!

Must be very relaxed out of the summer season.

I remember using the Route Napoleon a few years ago - great drive.
