I've decided to change my rs for a 2017 Rt.
It's not a decision I've taken lightly as I've personalised the rs more than any bike I've ever had.
It's now 2.5 years old and I've only done 4500 miles, I joined the mcn challenge and have managed 2500 miles this year.
So why am I selling, well.
Whilst the riding position is comfy for 2 hours, after that I get really bad pain in my knees. I've tried the higher seat etc but it's stopping me from going longer distances, hence why I've decided to change.
I've part exchanged it at Bristol motorad and Luke there has done me a good deal on a new Mars red Rt.
Whoever get my old bike will have a great bike. It's been serviced 3times, has some great extras on it and goes and sounds (Akropovic exhaust) fabulous.
I guess that also means I have to leave this forum.
I can't find one quite as good for the Rt but I'll keep on looking.. Safe riding guys.

You don't have to leave the forum if you don't want to :) I still wander around on the F800 forum now and then.
I love my RS, but am also tempted by the RT - but for the sake of my ears. I don't like ear plugs and find the wind noise on the RS is really annoying. I had an RT loaner for a day and sitting in that "bubble" on the motorway was heavenly. Heated seat too.....

Good luck with the new RT. Each time I go in the showroom, I look longingly at the RT. Don't get me wrong, I love my RS, but I like the look of the RT. I like the full fairing, but when I sit across it, it seems so much bigger than the RS, and for me, that means less manoeverable in town, etc. I know the the RS is the right bike for me, but for the longer touring rides, it would be lovely to have the RT in the garage as well!
Nah! That’s just rubbish. I love new bikes, so just looking for an excuse to buy another.
    Enjoy your ride Harleybear.

We're not all the same thankfully. I've owned a GS and ridden an RT. I look at my mates RT's and GS's and think - nah...

Enjoy the RT! The GS, RT and RR are all instantly recognizable BMWs that have a long history and will be around for years. The RS is more for...the kinda folks you find here....

I reckon it was the high heels that were causing your knee pain...

The new RT paint scheme is nice and helps to hide its size.
On the open roads it would be almost unmatched by others in comfort vs bulk.
The K1600 is impressive too, but even to me it is a bit intimidating.
I had a hard luggage equipped KZ 1300 fuel injected some decades ago, so the big BMW is not overwhelming for its size and weight. It is its complexity and power that puts me off.

OK, please keep me in mind.
It's official, I've now sold the Rs.
I'm now a sit up and beg rider!
