I tried to create some interest in my last kwack forum with no joy, I will explain.

As I have a relative in Brighton and would like to spend a couple of nights down there I started to look for secure overnight parking in Brighton as my relative lives in a insecure place shall we say, I have had no success.

My idea was to create a network of like minded BMW bike owners that have enough secure space to take in a bike over one or two nights, these areas being loosely identified and hooked up via PM's.

I live 2 miles from Blackpool with enough secure space in my brick garage to park a bike with mine, and it would be safe, with a possible lift into Blackpool if one needed and bike and gear safe and secured while having a great day or two .

We live in some great places and secure parking is a nightmare,

    It's just a thought.

Sounds like a marvellous scheme, ripe to be exploited by criminals to case out your garage to see if you have anything worth coming back for later.
Air BnB works as they whack a huge pre-authorisation on a credit card which is only cancelled once the property owner has ticked a box to say you didn't trash the place.
Catch a train or use a Megabus to get to Brighton.

Afraid not - I think mine was the only RS there last time I had visitors (during the last Alpine Run). IMG_3712.jpg

happy to go with it, near Penrith in Cumbria room for about 5 bikes at a go, maybe more. if bonafide, part of this forum, then room for people to stay over if they want to explore the north of England.

Very nice idea Ged, I can fit one other bike in my very secure garage alongside my 2, but not much call for tourism or even visitors round my neck of the woods, Leyland in Lancashire.

I think you have been watching too many crooked films.
If I wanted to travel on a train I wouldn't have bought a motorbike,

    Any criminals on here ???

It's about using common sense and knowing who is straight.

Whatever idea someone has there is always someone who will trash it.

Michael - what are those blueish green stickers on the front of all the bikes?

    Michael,

The guy hanging on to the CBX looks like someone I know - Peter Taylor?

Last time I was in Brighton I stayed at a cheap B&B just off the main sea front. Found a secure parking place around the back where they didn't charge, regencysecureparking.co.uk

It's a good idea but in my case I would stay at my brother's, with no back yard and bike is difficult to get up his flat stairs :)

Can we not trust the people on this Forum. Do more mature owners of BMW be likely to steal our bikes or am I being naive??

You don't have to be a member in order to read the forum.

That is true, but when you don't find a BMW at the other end that would be a warning.

You need to be a member to receive messages which I'm certain is how you would get the address details. Nobody is going to put their address on an open forum. I have space for one in a garage, Warrington Cheshire area.

It's just a thought, I think we have all stayed at p!aces and worried that your machine is exposed to vandalism or theft, it unites members and cheats the theaves.

A biker from Gloucester stayed at my house and yet I had not met him before, in return I stayed at his place in Gloucestershire when I picked a new bike up from Gloucester, you get a feeling about people.
