Darrell, with your blessing I will make this a Fall event only then. I don't want to steal anyone from the Eureka Springs event but it is nice to have options. Maybe some others will join in and do the same around the country to create more options.

I come from the ST-Owners forum where there is just about one event every weekend somewhere in the U.S. during the spring-fall. It gives one a reason to travel to different places and spend time with like-minded individuals. I consider many that I have met through those events to be family. I would like to extend the hospitality to the RS community as well.

I will plan on attending the Eureka Springs event but will probably camp at the Kettle Campground as I have a phobia of motel rooms (biology/entomology background :)). I will meet everyone for breakfast and be willing to lead a ride or two or help with route planning but at the end of the day I'm crawling in my tent.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully we'll see you in the spring. We had a good time as a group last spring. And I do appreciate you allowing this spring event happen without conflict with another event.

Fall and camping both appeal to me also. Depends on the campgrounds though. I like State parks.

Arkansas, Eurika Springs, and fellow RS riders were all great. I suspect you ride will be just as good. But...just to far for me to do twice in a year.

The third week of Sep we are taking the bicycles to Mackinac Island Michigan and the third week of Oct we take the RSs to NW Arkansas for a yearly i-BMW rally we always attend.
I think those two weeks use up most of Debbie's remaining vacation time.

    Here's the i-BMW site.
    http://www.i-bmw.com/index.php?
It started as a K bike site when the K1200RS was introduced. With the K1300 being discontinued some of us have switched to R bikes.

Here's the link to all the rallies.

These are not organized events. A date and motel is picked.

Here's the link for the Arkansas rally.

It's one week later than normal this year.

Just got back from riding about 600 miles of twisties the last three days. Camped at the Hub and made a great loop out of there Saturday. Temps were cool and roads were empty. A wonderful weekend of riding for sure.

Sounds nice. Wish we had nicer temps here but they are coming. Today it only went into the low 90's ...

I have to bow out of my own event due to circumstances outside of my control. I've updated the first post in this thread. Hope to see everyone next year in Eureka Springs.

On the one hand, sorry you won't be riding much that weekend.
On the other hand, I'm sitting on a deadline for 3 book chapters, so taking off the pressure for a mandatory ride south feels good. (We all have enough mandatory in life.)
(Of course, if the the weather is usual for this time of the year, I might have to sneak down for a few, non-mandatory miles on the new tires.)
And of course, this will make meeting in the spring more momentous.
