Hi Graham, I use the quick shift the majority of the time. I short shift 1 - 2 using the quick shift and find it really smooth, just make sure you have some power on, doesn't need much, just takes a bit of practice breaking the habit of reducing the throttle on the upshift. Don't be put off if it feels a bit jerky at first, just needs practice. I haven't gone 1 - 2 under hard acceleration at higher revs, always short shifter and works a treat.

Thanks, yes getting there but you are right still a couple of times of not keeping the throttle on when upshifting. I am amazed how good it is

A change of direction here. I have a 2004 1150RT, and love it. No ESA, no LC, and though it is low on HP, runs the roads beautifully. I've been looking at the RS since it was first introduced. I live in the Texas Gulf Coast, no mountains, no multi twisties, just riding for hundreds of miles from point A to point B. Seriously, is the RS worthy in those conditions and locales, to make me want to spend boo koo dollars to change to it from the RT? I also have a Kawi Concours 14, should I need to to go FAST. No trolling here, really need to know if I should or shouldn't got for a test ride on the RS? A friend sells them, so no problem doing a test. Please help. Just spent $8k on a cruiser recently, and my next expenditure needs to be a serious consideration. Thanks to all for any assistance. tp dd50

If you're really not sure about buying one then might I suggest you don't test ride one?
Once you've ridden one you'll want one.

Yeah, figured that would be the case. Spending money on the house right now. Fun, ie a new bike, will have to wait a while. Thanks for your comment. tp

I take delivery of mine in the next two weeks so this was an interesting read. The only comment I dispute is that the blue bike is the fast one, I got told that was reserved for the bronze and black model!!

All the Lupin Blue owners were given the same dud sales pitch, and as a consequence missed out on the super classy Granite Grey ;)o_O

Norfolk isn’t even ready for my Frozen Bronze and black model yet, so fast even my K1300S Motorsport had to go to make room for it! Lupine Blue makes me feel blue!
