If you have to have panniers they might as well look good.......... I copied this from a pic on the web, the guys at Coopers Tunbridge Wells got them painted from a local chap they use.
270 miles from new and I love the handling, not so sure about the fueling just above idle, seems to have a lean spot, 3000rpm in 4th on a steady throttle and it surges, I think others have reported it.

Mel, did you consider reversing that scheme? I like what you did but wonder if it would have 'flowed' better with the blue as the base on the side and the white as the highlight \ side top. Just curious. Looks good.

Good point, no I just saw a photo and liked it, might put a small BMW badge in one corner of the white area.

Has anyone painted the bags Light Grey Metallic? I'm curious to see how that looks on the Blue bike.

    The bags are Granite Grey.
Light Grey Metallic are the panels that look white in certain light conditions.
If you look at the panels in the sun you will see they are a very light grey color.

Here's the Light Grey Metallic color.

Decided to have the paniers painted light grey metallic with a touch of blue, look at the result, just have to wait for the snow to clear probably another 3 months. Can't wait

And another example of painted panniers - covers painted Lupin Blue. I discovered too late that the panniers and top box can be bought from BMW with lids in primer only at a substantially lower price than grey painted lids. Would have paid for a substantial portion of the cost of painting.
