My RS has the keyless option and I drive it rarely with panniers. So, the only but frequent need to use the physical key was to lock/unlock die GPS (Navigator VI) to the cradle. The security effect of the lock tends to zero as the GPS will not resist a serious theft attack. So, normaly I take it with me, when leaving the RS in a dubious area.
My solution to get rid of the required use of the key: I opened two screws of the cradle and removed the bolt that is turned when locking the GPS.
After all, I can now enjoy the keyless option without restrictions.

And you see: if this is the most serious „problem“ with my RS, I must be a very happy owner - it‘s such a great bike!!

    All the best,
    Axel

I got a blank key cut at my local shoe and key place. It was actually a Ducati blank. Much easier to use on the seat, satnav, topbox and panniers as you can get leverage without it flexing. Also much smaller so easy to keep in a handy pocket, plus no need to get the keyless one out therefore reducing the risk of losing it.
