I have done loads to it in terms of replacing old with new (even the exhausts) (don’t ask how much!!) and it is as close to original as possible - the engine has never been out of the frame and all the serial numbers match

Beautiful! Had a 1977 1000 bought new. Would love to have it but shipping would be cost prohibitive. If you don't decide to keep it, someone over there should get it. Don't see them that nice, if at all.

I think it's Bob's wife he's selling in the bottom picture, he wouldn't be daft enough to sell his pride and joy, the z.:)

Sorry, just have a wierd sense of humour.

Bob, that is in amazing condition! Also, being the original owner ups the value tremendously. My first bike was a '78 Kawi 1000. I wish I still had it. You are a lucky man!

That bike was a seminal machine. It really upped the ante for Japanese streetbikes. Yours is the vintage and color that I remember most. Those engines are like anvils...really tough to break! Definitely a keeper...

Nice when they come out motor was great but have to say pity about the rubber frame. if you liked looking at the Z900 then look up a movie from Australia called STONE. Z900 all over the place in that movie.

Cheers for the tip, what a classic aussie movie! I see the guy that plays the head biker in the gravediggers is the same actor as the crazy dude with the wrist mounted crossbow in Mad Max 1, rides a kawasaki in that too I think
