OK Guys I have blocked the weekend, its a bit of a hike up there but I'm keen to make it happen :D. Work can mess up my weekends but I will try and fix this one.

Hi all sounds good but will have to give it a miss so have a few beers for me just a bit to far to ride for me, but a great idea though so all enjoy the ride and the food/beer

Probably a bit out of your way, but I'm hoping to lead a ride sometime in the first two weeks of August, from southern Hertfordshire, and taking in a very nice loop of some of my favourite roads. If any of you can make it, you'll be more than welcome.

We are already booked for a jolly around the s/w of Scotland that weekend. Did that area last year, lunch at the Tan Hill on the Sunday.

I'm free the weekend. I'm happy to plan route(s) for Saturday and/or Sunday. Is accommodation an issue or is it s ride up/ride out and ride down day. That would prove too much methinks.

I live in the area and we have 5 in a 3 bed semi so no spare room I'm afraid. So, one day or two. I'm thinking maximum of 200 or so miles so the full list of locations and routes would be a 2 day affair. I'm also happy to lead at a reasonable pace but would ask that anyone who wants to push on a bit more might want to do their own thing.

So basically, what do people want? There's a wealth of great biking roads and cafe's and restaurants.

Too far North for me - allowing for getting there and back. I think we will end up with 2 x UK 'meets' unless we aim for central England. to saying we should, just my feeling . if the Tan Hill is a firm favourite then a southern 'chapter' alternative might be somewhere between Oxford and Bristol - North Cotswolds or Hampshire/Dorest ?

Excellent Andy. From Lancashire I can get to my warehouse in Ilton, Somerset in less than 3hrs, London in about 2hrs.
All this nice weather now though...

Well we have the roads and a distinct lack of traffic :)

So if it's a meet, greet, ride, lunch, ride, dinner and bye then all I need is a date. I'd suggest Devil's Bridge in Kirkby Lonsdale to meet. I've taken a days leave on the suggested weekend already so can travel South if needs be.

Hold on, I know it's easy done but now I'm confused??
What's happening, is there a meet. Can we be firm on this. Tan Hill? 18th Sept?

I'm up for it. Meet at Tan Hill if that's preferred? One day ride out (we won't get to all the venues).

I'll be in Morocco in September, sadly not getting as far as South Africa. But SauRoN: Next time my wife and I plan a trip to South Africa/Namibia/Botsuana/... I will let you know and we can get bikes and go for a ride together. Won't be next year, our daughter is still too young for such a long flight, but we'll be there...!

So, @ray2 , @RJC_BMW & @Peter Burridge ... I'm quite booked in August, but I'd be available the first few days of September or even the week after. Timmelsjoch to Stelvio it is?

Sounds like a plan for sure!

I'm off to France next year this time with a 3-year old...I would leave her at home but my wife is insisting.
