    Stef,
I used the search function , for this query, on this site (multiple times over 2 years) prior to posting today. I found multiple "one offs" and a riser which I purchased from a guy in england. My question is whether there are similar alternatives to the Hornig?

I have not seen any other mounts similar to Hornig.
The only other mounts I've seen are the two mounts made by members of this site.

Here's the thread on the Vortex: #1

I really like how this positions the GPS better than the Hornig unit. I'm researching the Vortex now.

    Hello Fitzharris,

I bought the hornig gps mount a month ago, for my tomtom rider 5 (model 2013)
In my case the GPS mount works well, although I had to rearrange my brake and clutch lever
I had to till them up a little bit, my bmw original screen is on the lowest position,
no contact with GPS and screen, only for removal of GPS, I have to put the screen
    on higher position

I will make some better pictures when I'm back home

the main disadvantage of all GPS mounts that are installed on the original GPS location, is that they will obstruct the view on the dash board. So the only way to go is install the GPS above the dash board.
