WP_20180325_18_05_57_Pro.jpg Hi, I fitted frame caps from Pyramid Plastics. They look really good. But two fell out on the first trip out of less than 20 miles. It is the ones that go in the 'angled' holes (see pic') For these particular holes there is grip tape supplied so obviously an issue! The grip tape had also completely come off! I left the grip tape on for 30 minutes (ish') before inserting the caps and it was several days before I rode the bike! Has anyone else had this problem? And more importantly know of a cunning plan to keep them in? ... silicone???? Pyramid have kindly supplied two new ones and I want to ensure I don't lose them too! Thanks....

I would suggest a urethane adhesive/caulk. Silicone is not great in this type of application.

I just went out and looked at the bike last night. I have not lost any plastic bits from R&G. Thinking about it, I suppose they are held in by extra money...?

I had exactly the same problem. The caps would not stay in at all. Within minutes they were starting to ‘push’ out.
I drilled a very small hole in each to release any air pressure, and then I ran a piece of fine emery cloth lightly around the inside of the ‘holes’ to provide more grip. I put the caps in the holes, and I have had no problems since.

That sounds practical. with gaffer tape on mine were pushing themselves out, so there must be pressure behind there? ... Are yours from Pyramid also?

I bought mine on Amazon, but they are not available any longer. They were just hard plastic, which would not stay in. I also bought a couple of metal ones for the big holes.

I tried everything including various adhesives and drilling small holes for air relief.Nothing worked and I can watch them release from the holes.

Maybe this video might be useful. I have not watched it due to lack of interest in this modification.

I had the same issue with a couple of them from pyramid too. I emailed them and was sent replacements and some better gripper tape, basically sticky backed sandpaper, rougher than the original stuff. Been fine ever since.

I have the same issue with the two angled holes. LH side worked fine, RH side the emery tape they supplied does not adhere properly and the black plastic plug pops out. Still looking for a proper solution.

Don't bother. It's fine without them.

Same here- slash cut hole means it is not round. Not surprising they pop out as they are hard and round.
I sprayed the hole with superglue kicker and glued the lip. They'll never need to come out.

    It's an engine bolt cover.
You would have bigger things to worry about than cutting out a plastic cap.
