Here is a video of GS taking a pretty good spill with the same BMW valve-cover guards as fit the RS. Looks like they provided more protection than you might expect.

The nice thing about the BMW guard is the plastic piece is replaceable for $17 US.

Good example of cylinder protection and as the narrator pointed out, always wear your gear.

Helmet did its job too. Good to see that he was not hurt and that GS just fired right back up. Sweet.

Looks like he grabbed some front brake and crossed up the wheel. Cornering ABS might have saved him that crash?

Yesterday, I watched a HD Sportster rider drop their bike in a parking lot. Apparently, a newbie, but wearing a helmet (the Bell Darth Vader half-helmet with bondage style mouth guard), the rider dismounted then decided to pull-out the kick-stand while standing beside the bike. Being about 110-lbs dripping wet, the rider was out-matched by the 560-lb Sportster and over it went. Now, I will say, the rider was a cut above the HD average..helmet, gloves, jacket and boots were all proper gear. The black leggings weren't. But, from a distance, I, the concerned experienced rider, thought this young lady needs help!

Well, sometimes, tragedy is best suffered alone. The black leggings were actually skinny leg elastic bottom sweat pants (i.e., geek gamer wear) and the she was an embarrassed he...
    Need any help? .........No!
    You OK? ...................Yes!
    Be careful....

I think I may have written the screen play for the episode of the Big Bang Theory titled..."Howard buys a Harley"

What a plot twist! Do you think Leonard is up to the task known as Bernadette? Penny might be less of a "hand full".

I was going along the path of Bernadette buying a sidecar for Howard to ride in. This, of course, follows Bernadette driving out the parking lot to pick-up the fallen Sportster, which Howard films on his I-phone and posts to YouTube. He's an Astronaut, you know.

Fruit Loops has always had a thing for Penny,I figured he might whisk her off for a spin, having traded in his scooter. I much prefer Bernie (Walowitz not Sanders) anyways I'm getting off my original point which was.... Bags me first to lick the pillion seat.

You mean the punch? When Howard tried to slip the tongue, during a sympathy hug. Pure, sleaze-ball, at his best.

My favorite Fruit Loops greatest line......."I ate a butterfly...."

Do you think Howard will be able to get Bernadette to go to a Biker bar?

I was just at the dealer's and came across this unfortunate sight. Just a small "controlled" drop and not much damage: top box might have saved the rest of the bike, tiny scratch top of rear hub, left mirror snapped off, handlebar end, and the cylinder head. This to me is not a good testimonial for the BMW cylinder head protectors (AUD $400). The X-heads would have completely protected the head.
