We want to get a few group rides throughout the summer. We will plan trips so that East and West Slope riders can be involved (meet in the middle). Watch this thread for trip announcements.

I went to Walden through Cameron Pass Saturday, great ride and great weather. Just one bad item, got a speeding ticket on Stove Prairie road on a section where the speed limit is 25 mph. Ouch.

Looks like the west side of Wilkerson Pass at the big pull off.

    Goss1.
You may have a neat thing started.
Us Colorado Riders (or others familiar with the state) Post a pic of a scenic place in Colorado, Or anywhere in the western region. Then let others guess where the photo was taken. The picture may need to have some sort of significant place in the photo to keep it somewhat identifiable. Could be fun!
It's Sjouflas' thread, maybe he'll chime in and give the idea a thumbs up?

I am constantly amazed at how well some riders can place themselves on a map. I tend to be on the lower end of the scale. With "Google View" it is fun to practice your mapping skills. Sure is fun to capture riding memories. Today was a fine day.

Made a 750 mile two day run into northern New Mexico last week. Cuchara Colorado, Angel Fire and Taos NM and back. Here are some pics.

Great pictures. That is a great ride. Get to Santa Fe a lot. Love that Rio Grande Gorge Bridge.

    Indeed.
Was just down at "Flies and Lies" on Saturday.
    A road that never disappoints.

Let's start planning the next group ride.
In general, Wednesdays are not good for me. I am open to half day or full day rides.

I live near Boulder, I am very familiar with most canyon roads on the East slopes between the Peak to Peak Highway (CO 72) and CO 93 & US 36. I have lived in CO for 3 years and, thus, would prefer to see new canyon roads. Perhaps south of I-70 or west of Golden.

Tip: CO 72 is being repaved, currently working a section between Ward and CO 7 junction. But they are almost finished. It's a new asphalt layer, not just chip seal, it will be great once finished. Also, Lefthand Canyon Road between Ward and Longmont is dirt for about 10 miles near Jamestown. This one, also, will be great once finished but that's months away.
