IMG_1435.JPG Just done 1000 miles ride from Birmingham UK to Santander North Spain.
2017 R1200RS Sport SE White with red frame. Cruise control set to a steady 60 mph for two days saw some impressive range on the trip computer. 74 mpg and full tank registered 311 miles to empty. In Spain now enjoying the Picos de Europa mountains.

    Hi Barry,
Is that one up, or with pillion and luggage ?
I'm travelling down to Aragon for the MotoGP with full luggage and my better half on board, leaving Portsmouth for Santander on the 16th.
Somehow, I think i'll struggle to match your economy.

Wow that is great restraint, thought doing well 57 uk miles per gallon. That is good going nice to know it can be achieved if needed. :):):)

@kristoph - one up with Ventura luggage system - see profile pic
@Richard Judd - tyres already done 3,500 and had to do another 3,500 before getting home so i reckoned if i take it steady for a 1000 mile through France alone then when I meet my mates in Spain I can let rip. So when I got home the tyres were still legal but well worn. Don't know if going 60 helped save them much but, coming back up through France couldn't hold 60 - wanted to get home so back to normal speeds. Pilot Road Sport 4s fitted from new - what great mileage they give.

60mph, really, we must have a serious talk :)

Mine is doing 60 mpg at the moment. That's good too.

Didn't do so good in Germany on tour in summer, maybe the constant 90 mph with 12 mile runs at 140mph just because I could didn't help :(

Good old Germany. If we did 140 mph down under our bikes would be crushed.:rolleyes:

That ticket might have something to do with the 34 mpg. I had a friend on his K1200S get picked up in eastern MO last summer for doing 90 in a 55. They took the bike to the impound lot. They gave him a ride in to town and told him to find a way home. He lived in CT. He spent over $2500 in attorney fees and fines before he finally got his bike back. plus expenses to fly home and back to get the bike. Took 6 weeks to resolved the case. I'd guess many states would do the same.
