To all the people in the middle of Spain. I understand that it can still be 15 degrees and fairly dry there even in early December ?

    Hi.
Nowadays they're having floods produced by heavy rain in some areas, but it is reasonable to think the weather will be fair in that part of Spain in december.
Keep in mind that "Sierra de Grazalema" in the province of Cadiz is the rainiest area of the Iberian peninsula.
You can check the official weather forecast portal here: http://www.aemet.es/en/portada
Anyway, if I were in your shoes I'll no doubt head to Andalucia. :)
Also as a britton you're supposed to be well equipped for the rain, right?
Do you have any ideas about the places you want to visit?

    Hi.
Nice trip! I hope you'll enjoy it. You may find fog sometimes in the intermediate areas of the trip but overall I think you'll appreciate the weather.
    Drive safe.
    Regards.

Not jealous, honest. Late teens to early twenties or freezing, no contest really.

Admire your thinking and hope you have a good trip. Put me on mind of doing something similar in future.

    Hi.
Good to see everything is in schedule.
One more thing: There are gonna be traffic restrictions in the center of Madrid - although bikes will be permitted :D - during the christmas season. (I think you've scheduled a lunch/dinner in a restaurant in Madrid)
Drop me a private message if you want us to meet in Madrid: I'll have to go to work but maybe I can stretch the agenda. ;-)
    Regards.

My friend is sorting Madrid and of course we are hopeful to reach Madrid from Santander in one run. We disembark the ship at 13:00 so lets hope its an easy run down ?

I will message you when we are on the ferry Sunday night if that's ok.

    Hi.
Sure you can do Santander-Madrid in one run (specially with an RS ;) ). However be prepared for some traffic jams in the afternoon while approaching Madrid: Sunday is the last day of a - somewhat - long weekend and you'll find lots of traffic coming back to town. I will be out as well for a few days and I'll return on Sunday.
I think you'd rather have lunch in the Ferry so that you reach Madrid ASAP.
Here we have CET, same timezone as Berlin!
I'll keep an eye on the Forum to see what you're up to!!
    Enjoy.
    Regards.

I did not take a notepad in the end so had no way of contacting you from the ferry. We only stayed one night in Madrid. WE ended up doing 1874 miles. Rode over the Sierra Nevada range up to 9000 or 10000ft. Rode down to the Med Coast as well. Great time had by us both.

    Hi.
I'm glad you had good weather.
We are having more floods this days in the East. Looking forward to travel in the opposite direction: From Spain to Northern Scotland. ;-)
    Regards.
