Took a little ride up Du Toits Kloof and through Slanghoek back over the mountain via Bain's Kloof which may as well be an off road trail now it's so bumpy.

Stripped the zip on my jacket at the first photo op and rode with it open the rest of the way.

Then in Bain's found the coke in my top box had popped from the bumps so everything was covered in that.

And then to top it all off when getting to my mate in Paarl I took the top box off to rinse out the Coke only for the lid to pop open and scratch the paint off on the wall.

But outside of that it was a lekker ride. Valley is green and can't say there is a water crisis just the other side of the mountain.

It's looking kind of dry around there.

Sunny, but cold in this half of the world. However, the pictures are great. That sky is almost lapis.

I need to move countries - fed up with British rain and cold!

He he, the green bits I was too busy riding.

But yeah the water crisis is not serving the rest well.

This is the kind of "Klein Karoo" side of the mountain though.

You think you got it bad? Friend we call Big Bird rides a HD whatever. So one day with his new bike he heads out with a group. His first incident was he took a corner too fast and got into the gravel, over she goes, road rash. Next was he dropped his Ray Ban $300 glasses and promptly rode over them - got to stay cool these Harley riders. Then the 3rd one was he was riding along (with loaner glasses - got to look cool remember ) and a bumble bee stung his lip and it swelled so bad he could hardly talk. Bad day for the old Bird. But he is a great guy and a fantastic tiling guy. Glad I have my uncool full facer as in Alberta we quite often hear the familiar loud ding with a dune beetle hitting you. They don't even die when you thwack them with a spatula and stomp on them-another story.

You gotta admit, it is tough being a Harley rider. ;)

Nice pics. Sorry to hear about the minor mishaps. At least you were out riding and that's all that really matters.
